Zhou Youguang School of Languages and Cultures  has more than 82 permanent academic staff, researching and teaching a broad range of subjects and disciplines within the realm of languages and literatures. Of these, 6 are professors, 14 are associate professors, 55 are lecturers and 7 are assistant instructors. Among all the academic staff, about 10.9% graduated with an honorable doctor’s degree from famous Chinese universities, the rest each have a master’s degree in various disciplines within the realm of foreign languages and literatures, and there are 3 teachers who are now studying for a doctor’s degree in famous universities such as Nanjing University and Shanghai International Studies University. What’s more, nearly 50% of the academic staff have been to famous foreign universities and colleges for further learning and studies in countries such as UK, US, Australia, Japan, Canada and so on.

In addition, Zhou Youguang School of Languages and Cultures is also greatly honored to have more than 30 established adjunct professors and professors emeriti within the realm of languages and literatures from famous domestic universities and colleges. Each year around twenty scholars from domestic universities give lectures or seminars in Zhou Youguang School of Languages and Cultures. Many major scholars within the realm of languages and literatures have spoken in Zhou Youguang School of Languages and Cultures  at some time. They have contributed greatly to the growth of our school.

Our faculty, either full-time or part-time, are committed to promoting language ability development, foreign literature appreciation, cross-cultural critical thinking and, further, to providing diverse opportunities to live and work in international contexts. For example, students can study abroad for short and longer periods, and can pursue internships abroad.
